Milton Council On Aging

The Milton Council on Aging (“COA”) is a town department comprised of a nine-member board appointed by the Board of Selectmen.  It was established in 1980 to respond to the needs of Milton’s seniors and to enhance their quality of life.  Working together with the director, staff, and volunteers, the COA provides programs and services for all residents 60 and over.  It also assists family members with information and referrals on elder issues. The Senior Center is a focal point in the community for information and activities.  Ongoing interest groups include computers, knitting, cribbage, bridge, book clubs, and much more.  All are welcome to visit and membership is not required to participate.

The French Cultural Center & Library

The French Cultural Center offers French courses, private classes and specialized workshops for both adults and children at all levels. Our methods and curriculum target systematic acquisition of grammar skills as a means of acquiring and using the language with immediate results. Our  native speaking teachers benefit from the expertise of the Alliance Française for the most effective methods of French language instruction. They encourage communication in French in a lively classroom atmosphere. Our classes are held in Boston.

Milton Women's Club

The Milton Woman's Club is a special event location in Milton that is near both Quincy and Boston and has green, well-kept grounds. The building features historic art and can hold up to 300 people in stadium-style seating or 175 at provided tables. There is also a full-size kitchen for caterers and plenty of space for mingling in the building's multiple party rooms, such as the ballroom and parlor. At the turn of the last century, around the time of the Spanish civil war, the club was founded to help the public. Ever since then, it has contributed to the town of Milton through donations for the hospital, schools and other organizations.

Forbes House Museum

Long considered the Jewel of Milton, the Forbes House Museum chronicles the history of an entrepreneurial American family. The majestic Greek Revival mansion, built in 1833 for Margaret Perkins Forbes, was commissioned by her sons, China Trade merchants Captain Robert Bennet Forbes (1804–89) and John Murray Forbes (1813–98). Today, the Museum contains the treasures of four generations of the Forbes family.
